Syncing the Arcade: Leaderboard & Game Save Architecture

Implemented backend-synchronized game saves and real-time leaderboard ranking endpoints with a robust local fallback mechanism for offline play.

From Local Storage to Cloud Sync

Initially, high scores and game progress were stored exclusively in browser local storage. We transitioned this architecture to a hybrid cloud sync model. When authenticated, the portal automatically pushes game saves and score checkpoints to the backend API database. If the network drops, players can continue playing offline using a local storage fallback.

Cyber Chess Board Layout Score validations are handled dynamically in the backend to ensure fair-play rankings.

Real-Time Leaderboard Calculations

Leaderboards are powered by real-time ranking endpoints. Every time a game session finishes, the game canvas dispatches score telemetry to our server. The backend validates the score, stores it in the database, and recalculates the rank of the top players, updating the score shelves dynamically.

Optimized Telemetry Dispatching

We unified event callbacks across all 20 game modules. Using standard telemetry dispatches, the page captures user performance metrics (such as words-per-minute, reaction milliseconds, or block clearance lines) and displays them on the console below the canvas.
